Married to the Protagonist

Chapter 31: Does it make you happy to tease me like that? (3)

This was a night that never ends.

Also, it wasn’t a good night at all.

Yan Cheng let out a long sighed and left the bathroom.

The huge disparity between pre and post-marital life made him lament. “I’ve never done anything like this before. Ah, I miss having a nanny.”

To think he never had to worry about such trivialities back then…

But who could have thought that Chen Jinyao’s ears would perk up at this moment? “Yan Cheng, I need to make something clear with you.”

The man who didn’t know how to change the bedsheets was making a mess out of the bed.

“You married a wife, not a nanny.”

“That’s why we have to share the household chores.”

Yan Cheng pursed his lips at that and did not speak.

He thought to himself, if Chen Jinyao still had the courage to come and tell him to share the chores once she’s seen this pitiful sight, then he concedes defeat.

Fifteen minutes later.

When he sensed that the shower was turned off, Yan Cheng hurriedly escaped to the living room.

Clink, clank! Nobody had any idea what he was tinkering with.

After she came out and saw the mess, Chen Jinyao’s expression cracked for a moment. After barely returning to normal, she kept a calm face and dragged her body to clean up his dog pit into one fit for a human before slipping back under the covers. Who cares what the person who tossed her the work ran off to, she was ready to cherish her last three hours before dawn.

Then, Yan Cheng came in loudly with his slippers.

Then, he tossed her a fully charged heater.

“I made you a cup of brown sugar ginger tea.” The almighty Baidu taught him how to successfully seek forgiveness after tossing work aside.

However, things wouldn’t end here.

After taking a small sip of the brown sugar ginger tea, Chen Jinyao didn’t forget to eye him. “Even if you don’t know how to do it you don’t have to be in such a hurry to look away. You could learn.”

After a pause, she added with a grin, “I could teach you.”

Yan Cheng had a complicated look on his face. After a short struggle, he chose no. “……No need.” I’m not learning it.

The disagreements between Huo Qidong and Yan Cheng began at college.

The exact reason however, he couldn’t quite recall.

Perhaps it was due to envy, or maybe it was some other reason. But what he couldn’t deny was the fact that Huo Qidong was both conceited and selfish. He was particularly good at disguising himself as a righteous person, but by essence, he was petty and cunning.

He didn’t like Yan Cheng, so as long as it was something Yan Cheng had or liked, he would try to snatch it from him no matter what it takes.

And when he succeeded, he beams with pride and pomp.

Take for example, Zhou Xue. In the end, Zhou Xue chose to marry him, and he felt that that was one of his best wins. Only gradually, he also began to discover that things may not be as he had thought…

As time went on, this mismatch became a sort of habit.

When the darkness inside of him came out, he couldn’t stomach seeing Yan Cheng living so well now after losing his beloved.

Only

Adding Chen Jinyao on WeChat in the middle of the night and recording a message to her with a tone of familiarity, Huo Qidong had to admit that he had done this on purpose.

He came up with this idea when he saw Yan Cheng and Chen Jinyao getting along peacefully. He and Chen Jinyao had many mutual friends so it wasn’t actually hard getting ahold of her contact information. Adding her in the middle of the night added to the suggestiveness.

And all he had to do was wait quietly until dawn for Chen Jinyao to add him.

Since Chen Jinyao liked him before, this was simply too easy.

However, even until the next night.

He still did not get any responses on WeChat.

And, when he tried to add her again, he found that he had been blacklisted.

“…”
