Married to the Protagonist

Chapter 164: It’s All Yours (1)

It was like he had a glimpse of the “truth” through the misty fog and that made him very happy. He pursed his lips as he slumped into deep thought, he felt happier and happier, as if he was about to go crazy.

His slightly squinted eyes widened again, and the fragments of light in the room started to appear.

The room was shrouded in warm-toned rays of light that were not too harsh to the eye. For a while, no one spoke, as they let the warmth sink in.

Chen Jinyao looked towards him in silence. Her lips curled up with a seemingly nonexistent smile. Her hand, thumb and index finger, which was naturally hanging beside her, shifted unconsciously a few times. After ten seconds, as if she was bewitched, she calmed herself down, tried to act calm and pinched Yancheng’s soft plump earlobes……

In an instant, she could feel this touch from the bottom of her heart, it was incredibly soft.

She restrained herself, and felt that she had the thoughts of a pervert. She barely suppressed the surprise in her gaze. She pinched him again and played with it for a while before letting go reluctantly, “It must be this kid, he’ll only say hi to me when you’re gone.”

As in his little feet or hands kicking her belly.

“When you want to talk to him, he acts all high and mighty .” When she saw him puff up his cheeks in dissatisfaction, she couldn’t help but poke his cheek lightly with her index finger.

Yan Cheng frowned slightly, “……”His excited mood seemed to have just taken a roller coaster ride.

And now, it was speeding madly downhill without any signs of stopping.

After a long while, he narrowed his eyes, “If that’s the case, I can communicate with him.”

“…….” Chen Jinyao didn’t open her eyes, pursing her lips as her face started to blush red.

After a few seconds,

Yan Cheng, who pressed his face against Chen Jinyao’s belly, could clearly feel that Chen Jinyao’s belly moved slightly and suddenly bulged upwards.

Yan Cheng held his breath subconsciously, and was absolutely delighted.

He calmed himself down, and tried to feel it with all his heart. It was not long before he was startled. In fact, the baby moved more than once, and his movements were continuous.

It was like a series of deadly kicks.

Which was hitting him in the face very unceremoniously.

Accompanied by Chen Jinyao’s deliberately misinterpreted explanation, “Our child said that he wants to beat you to death.”

Yan Cheng: “……”

Okay, he got the memo.

******

After Chen Jinyao got pregnant, she never gave up on her job.

Every working day, she would still go to work like everyone else.

It’s just that under Yan Cheng’s disapproval, she was forced to reduce her workload, so she could only trouble her other two colleagues in the clinic to take over.

The two colleagues shrugged it off and smiled: “No worries, we can earn from this.”

“Doctors should have professional conduct, don’t make it about money or it’ll get personal.” Chen Jinyao pursed her lips.

Colleague A was a straightforward person, “Jinyao, you don’t know about this, I was determined to become a dentist because I thought that this profession would make lots of money.”

“………”

So, Chen Jinyao’s daily workload was very minimal.

Occasionally, she would see one or two patients only.

At other times, when she had too much time in hands, there was a glass of water on her desk. She would sit in the office and read a book. When she got tired, she would get up and walk around. She was just like a free and easy old man.

Since she was like this, after thinking about it, it didn’t matter whether she came to the clinic or not.

However, staying at home, without Yan Cheng, the house would be empty, it’s better to come to work, and join in on the gossip with Xiao Liu and the others.Until the seventh month of her pregnancy.

Yan Cheng seemed to have everything planned out.

He told her everything he wanted to say when he found out that Chen Jinyao was pregnant.

That day, coincidentally a Friday, he came to the clinic to pick her up from work early.

However, no matter how early he came, he still couldn’t beat how early night fell during the middle of winter.

The colorfully lit streets for the coming Chinese New Year celebration were filled with pedestrians wrapped in coats but were still suffering from the cold, as they walked hurriedly, occasionally stopping and stomping their feet on the ground, exhaling breaths of air to try and warm their cold palms.

The breaths turned into a few wisps of white smoke, embedded in the winter, which blended with the scene.

Across the glass, Yan Cheng saw Chen Jinyao from afar, who had already taken off her white coat, slowly walking over to him with her bag, and one hand on her hips.

She turned sideways, smiled and said “See you next week” to the front desk nurses.
