Chapter 125: Bad Reputation
And so, he had even more female fans. Unfamiliar female accounts were adding his WeChat every day.
The other five behind-the-scenes members of “Happy Guo Guo” were far more unknown than He Qisi. Except for people who already knew them, Tik Tok audiences would not pay attention to their names.
The children of Sun Yiyi and Wei Ying’s colleagues found Sun Weiwei’s name when they watched “Shi-Senpai” on Tik Tok, and they informed their parents. So the colleagues found Sun Yiyi and Wei Ying and praised Sun Weiwei, saying how she created the “Happy Guo Guo” cyber star Tik Tok account and how she had a promising future. They also said how everyone now knew about “Happy Guo Guo”, and their children were all fans of “Happy Guo Guo”.
Sun Yiyi and Wei Ying immediately downloaded the Tik Tok application and searched for the account named “Happy Guo Guo.” It had more than 460k fans! They then watched the videos.
Hey, isn’t this Liu Man?
Sun Yiyi and his wife exchanged glances.
When did their daughter become friends with Liu Man again?
“No wonder Zhang Pei said her daughter was being some cyber star online and said how Liu Man had lots of fans,” Sun Yiyi said, “I checked the comments, and ‘Happy Guo Guo’ only got popular because Liu Man joined them.”
Wei Ying laughed, “Looks like Liu Man is now much more mature and knows she needs to be grateful.”
“Everyone grows up at some point. You can’t always see Liu Man differently just because of what she did when she was a kid,” Sun Yiyi disagreed with how Wei Ying treated Liu Man, “I realize how happy Weiwei is these days, and it must be because of Liu Man. This proves how Liu Man has become a good girl now. Weiwei isn’t stupid. If Liu Man’s as bad as how she was in the past, Weiwei wouldn’t even talk to her.”
“Also, Zhang Pei called me yesterday saying she will try to repay us the 100k by next month.”
Wei Ying was surprised, “They earned 100k within such a short amount of time?”
Sun Yiyi smiled, “Which shows how mature Liu Man has became.”
Liu Man had no idea she had succeeded in reversing the Sun family’s impression of her.
As “Shi-Senpai” grew more and more popular on the internet, she and Li Xiaoru started preparing for their Chamber Music Ensemble performance quickly. They had less than three weeks until the official assessment.
Starting from this week, they would spend two hours a day in the practice rooms to rehearse their piece.
On this day, right after they finished their rehearsal, they exited the practice room and bumped into Wang Nina and her partner, Xu Zihan. They had also just finished their practice session.
The temperament was awkward.
They were best friends with Wang Nina in the past, but within a blink, Wang Nina unfriended them.
Wang Nina still had that aloof appearance and never looked at Liu Man and Li Xiaoru directly.
At last, it was Xu Zihan who interrupted the awkwardness. She asked, “How many people are going to be in your performance?”
Li Xiaoru had talked to Xu Zihan before, she replied, “Three.”
“You only found one other person?” Xu Zihan intentionally pretended to be surprised, “You guys are the only trio I’ve heard of. According to what I know, everyone else is at least performing in a four-people group. We are performing a sextet, and we’ve found four people from both the strings and wind majors. We got two violins, a cello, and a clarinet.”
“Then you guys must be very good,” Li Xiaoru felt Xu Zihan’s tone contained irony. As expected, Xu Zihan continued,
“Although I also do piano live-streams sometimes to earn some extra allowance, I do feel like it’s unrealistic to drown in this virtual world and continue to work as a cyber star. It doesn’t benefit your development, either. We are actual piano majors, and our primary mission is to study and practice. We also need to get a good social connection in school, so it’s bad if your personality is too weird. If we are friends and we get into the same orchestra after we graduate, we could still help each other.”
Xu Zihan was indicating and mocking Liu Man for not having any social connections.
Li Xiaoru wanted to argue against her, but Liu Man pulled her back and told Xu Zihan,
“Yes, you’re completely right.”
Xu Zihan had no response to Liu Man’s attitude.
“I heard your helper is Wen Fangfei from the Guzhen major,” Wang Nina abruptly said. Although on the outside, she looked as if she was indifferent towards Liu Man and Li Xiaoru, she did do lots of research, “Do you know Wen Fangfei is in the same major as Shen Mozhen and is just two grades below her?”
Li Xiaoru hated Wang Nina’s weird tone.
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing.”
Li Xiaoru felt even angrier.
Wang Nina made her speechless and walked away with Xu Zihan.
It was true Wen Fangfei had a good relationship with Shen Mozhen. Not only were they in the same major, but they also had the same teacher — they were both apprentices of the famous Guzhen Performer, Professor Wei Wanru.
At the end of May, Shen Mozhen was going to host a personal Guzhen solo concert. It was also going to be her graduation performance. She invited a few friends to cooperate with her in this performance, and Wen Fangfei was one of them.
Wen Fangfei was already preparing for Shen Mozhen’s concert, so she was already very busy. Under this premise, she still agreed to help Liu Man and Li Xiaoru. It showed she liked Hanfu Goddess, and how kind she was. She was a good girl.
After receiving the music sheets Li Xiaoru sent her, Wen Fangfei squeezed some spare time to rearrange the piano music sheets of “Butterfly Lovers” into Guzhen music sheets. When she practiced in the practice room, she not only rehearsed the pieces Shen Mozhen gave her but also rehearsed this “Butterfly Lovers.”
Her classmate discovered that she was playing “Butterfly Lovers” and asked, “Hey, did Senior Mozhen give you this ‘Butterfly Lovers’ as a second piece for you to play at the concert?”
“No, no. I’m going to perform a trio with students from the piano major and help them pass a test.”
“Oh, oh, oh. Is it that performance for the Chamber Music Ensemble course? I heard that the piano majors, string majors, and wind majors are all annoyed to death right now. It’s a course led by a new professor.”
Wen Fangfei nodded.
Her classmate was surprised, “It’s rare for western music majors to cooperate with us, folksong majors. Who contacted you? Which piano major class are they in? I’ll see if I know them.”
Wen Fangfei did not keep anything back and said, “Li Xiaoru and Liu Man from the third class of piano major.”
“Liu Man. This name sounds familiar.”
Wen Fangfei reminded her, “Liu Man is Hanfu Goddess.”
“Oh, oh, oh, it’s her,” Her classmate’s expression became hard to understand, “I know her, but not because she’s Hanfu Goddess,” She got closer to Wen Fangfei’s ear and said, “Fangfei, you are too ingenuous. Don’t get fooled by others.”
Wen Fangfei frowned, “What do you mean by that?”
“Liu Man has a bad reputation and loves money more than anything else. She has bought many AJ’s and luxurious cosmetics, but at the end of last semester, she needed money and sold all her AJ’s. We still don’t know whether Liu Man’s rich or pretending to be rich all along.”
