Chapter 37: 1st Year Practical Sparring Part 2
Jame immediately shook George\'s hands, "Yes!"
George sighed in relief and was probably much happier than Jame was. But as he shook Jame\'s hand, he felt that his natural grip was about double as powerful as his own, \'Maybe this is still bad?\'
Many of the students quickly got in their circles, pushing their opponents out. And as more of them got eliminated by the second, all they could do was wait till the next round, where they could spar with another student.
"YOU!" Akshar shouted as he pointed at Peyton.
Peyton sighed, "Next round… Don\'t you see the guy beside me?"
Akshar gritted his teeth as he turned to the student who had been sticking with Peyton, alone and without an opponent, "YOU!"
The kid looked around, frantically searching for another student that he could match with to fight.
But everyone else had been eliminated, "Crap!" He cursed at himself as he walked into the circle.
Akshar followed before extending both his hands. It hadn\'t even been a second before the spar had been started, and Akshar had closed his distance between him and the poor student, quickly pushing him out of the circle with nothing but raw strength.
The kid fell on his back and had to take a second to breathe.
From his point of view, he felt as if the barbarian was a creature other than human; his strength was something that he couldn\'t even handle, not for even a second.
Even when he tried applying his martial arts, with the overpowering strength that the barbarian displayed, his martial art just proved useless.
Akshar walked out of the circle before Peyton and another student walked into it.
However, this spar was far different than the previous one; both got into their stance. But quickly changed their curled fist into an open hand, considering that the martial art that they utilized used punches and kicks. And with those being illegal in this spar, there was no reason to maintain a curled fist.
Both of them locked their hands together and pushed each other.
Although the other student maintained a proper form, his face showed struggle. He tried pushing Peyton, but his muscle fibre started to burn from holding that stance against him.
It was like trying to push against a wall; for him, it was impossible.
Peyton, on the other hand, looked calm and relaxed. Taking one step at a time before pushing the student out of the circle in 32 seconds.
It was not as impressive as Akshar\'s 1-second win. But winning the spar against a decent opponent in a minute was impressive nonetheless.
George covered his neck before gulping in fear that he might lose to Jame; no student was considered the worst, but if anyone were to guess, Jame might be a great candidate to be considered the weakest.
And it wouldn\'t be good for him if he, who many of them have been speculating to be a Class A student, lost to a student who is not known about fighting but is known for his nerdy hobby of recording rumours and dramas.
\'Relax, those hard work are not for nothing.\' He told himself.
Jame raised his hands and got into a stance similar to that of Peyton and his opponent.
But George got into no stance and jumped lightly before circling around him slowly.
Jame followed and maintained vision with George but, in turn, was turning around, making him slightly dizzy from doing so.
Peyton raised his brows and couldn\'t figure out what George was trying to do, \'Why is he not eliminating that guy yet?\'
All of a sudden, out of nowhere, George rushed towards Jame with his back bent, aiming for the legs, before grabbing hold of it.
Jame quickly responded by hardening his muscle to prevent his leg from being bent.
George felt just from holding him the difference of strength between the both of them.
\'Wait, why does his grip feel so weak?\' For a split second, Jame thought, before he felt his body being lifted up in the air.
George carried one of Jame\'s legs and slammed his body on the floor before letting go of the legs and walking away.
Jame stood up and got back in his stance before the instructor entered the circle, "Why are you still here? You have been eliminated."
Jame looked at the ground where he was standing and sighed, \'So… I\'m outside of the circle.\'
In about 45 seconds, George had managed to secure a one-leg takedown and slammed Jame outside of the circle. Even though it might seem impressive, the others didn\'t think so.
They were expecting a one-second victory or at least something that matched the victory that Peyton had.
There was also an argument to be made that his victory could be considered average at the very best, considering Jame was relatively unknown.
\'Damn it…\' George was visibly frustrated due to the attention that he had gathered from not being able to perform at the level that the other students had expected.
\'Making these guys happyis more harder than I expected.\'
"Alright! It\'s time for the second round!" The instructor shouted, silencing the class.
The weaker students continued choosing the opponents among themselves to avoid fighting against the stronger students in the class.
Jame quickly rushed and chose his new opponents among the weaker students who were still stronger than the average person, but at the very least, now he didn\'t have to have his back slammed, \'So much for making me lose without pain…\'
George avoided eye contact with Peyton; he saw how good Peyton was at fighting after he absolutely humiliated Akshar in class and didn\'t want to risk it all.
"Would you like to spar with me?" The student who had sparred with Peyton approached him.
George immediately responded without hesitation. "Sure."
If he could choose without caring whether he would lose the respect of the class, he would have rejected the request and gone for a weaker opponent, but this, was more than he could ask for.
