Reborn: Rise of the Greatest Summoner

Chapter 78 Training [1]

On the massive Frost Wolf\'s mouth was a dead rabbit as Christensen waved from on top his beast enthusiastically at his master. "Master, we hunted meat!"

As soon as Christensen returned with his wolf, after receiving permission from his master, he went to work on roasting the rabbit which would be their breakfast for the day alongside fruits from the island.

As Christensen roasted the meat, Legolas drew a time table.

When he was finally done, they both dug into the meat with gusto, finishing it in no time as Legolas finally presented the time table to his student.

"Take, this is your daily schedule that you\'ll follow until I deem you powerful enough to be my assistant to assist me in my quests".

"Yes, master". Christensen took it and rapidly went through it.

[Christensen\'s Daily Training Schedule!]

>Combat Training- Morning: 6 hours<

>Meditation- Afternoon: 2 hours<

>Rest- Afternoon: 2 hours<

>Knowledge Training- Evening: 4 hours<

>Combat Training- Night: 2 hours<

[Daily Target: Improve till Master\'s satisfaction!]

[Penalty for failure: Additional 4 hours of training!]

"…" Christensen just stood petrified staring at the book.

When he finally raised his head to look at his master, tears were pouring from his eyes like rivers of waters flowing down a dam. "Master…!" He cried.

"That\'s 14 hours of training every day!"

"And you said my daily target is to improve till your satisfaction…" He cried even more. "How do I know your satisfaction and how do I reach it?"

"And the penalty for failure is 4 additional hours of training".

"In overall, that\'s 18 hours of training, 18 hours!" He stressed.

"God, I\'ll die before I become strong, this is soooo unfair".

"Unfair you say?" Legolas raised his eyebrows. "Have you forgotten?"

"Huh?"

Legolas gesticulated dramatically as he spoke. "If you train 8 hours every day, I\'ll put in more effort and train 16 hours every day".

He went even more dramatic. "If you hone your fighting skills 3 hours every day, I\'ll hone mine 6 hours every day".

"If you read to learn knowledges 2 hours every day". He imitated Christensen wiping his tears. "I\'ll overcome my fear of books and read 4 hours every day!"

"Hahaha". Legolas laughed. "Have you forgotten who said this?"

"…" Christensen gritted his teeth.

"You\'ve not even started but you want to give up".

"I\'m not giving up!" He roared. "Bring it on, I\'ll take it all!"

"To exceed you, I\'ll do anything!"

"10 hours, 12 hours, 16 hours, 20 hours, I\'ll do it all and not get tired!" Christensen stood up and roared as he patted his chest.

"That\'s the spirit". Legolas smiled and stood up. "But you won\'t survive to surpass me though if you train 20 hours every day at your level".

"…" Christensen\'s eyebrows twitched as his dramatic posture paused.

"Master…!" He cried.

"Ok". Legolas patted him on the shoulder. "Let\'s get to business".

"First, tell me, how many summoner knowledges have you learned?"

"…" Christensen blushed. "2-2…" His face turned red in shame.

"That\'s better than I expected". Legolas smirked and nodded. "Which basic summoner knowledge have you learned?"

"The Beast Trainer and Organic Connection knowledge".

"Nice". Legolas gave a thumb up. "With the Organic Connection, things will be much easier for you in your combat training".

"My ultimate satisfaction of this training for your combat training is for you to level up a grade and become a Grade D superhuman".

"…" Christensen\'s eyes widened. "B-but…"

"No buts". Legolas smiled. "Leo is a Frost Wolf of royal bloodline; your combat training will lean more on him".

"Remember, with the Organic Connection knowledge, if your combat training is a success and Leo levels up, you also level up".

"Your morning combat training will be personally supervised by me here, you will be fighting simulated battles that you imagine in your mind".

"Summoners are not Pugilists or Elementalists, we use our brain more. Once you master the art of controlling a battle, that\'s when you finally become a master Summoner and its also one of the criteria that I\'m looking out for".

"As for your evening combat training, it\'ll be unsupervised".

Legolas\'s smile turned sinister. "You and Leo will enter deep into this island and spar with beasts of your choice".

"You can decide to cheat your way out of this one since I won\'t be supervising, but remember, you\'re doing all this to surpass me".

"If you can\'t even do this, then you\'re not qualified to be my student".

"Your knowledge training will be much more straightforward. I know that you hate reading books, but to be a great Summoner, you need to be smart".

"You must learn to read".

"I\'ll be providing you with books on Summoning that were written by masters, and I\'ll also give you other summoner knowledges to learn".

"Do you think you\'re up for the task?"

"Yes master!" Christensen roared with enthusiasm.

"That\'s the spirit, you can now begin". Legolas smiled. "Alongside Leo, just imagine enemies trying to kill you, do your best to kill them".

"Umm…"

"No complaints".

"Yes master!"

The next moment, Christensen called Leo and together they ran to the open field that was just before the edge of the island.

"Leo, let\'s envision an imaginary opponent and kill it".

"Let\'s do it!"

"Imaginary opponent come out!"

For over an hour, Christensen was frustrated as no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to envision an imaginary opponent from nothing that he and his contracted beast were supposed to fight and kill.

With tears in his eyes, he turned to his master for help but Legolas ignored him. Left with no choice, Christensen could only keep on groping around.

After 5 grueling hours of trying, Christensen still arrived at nothing.

"No…, this is too hard, I give up".

After saying this, Christensen turned to look at Legolas who reciprocated with a nonchalant look. He sighed. "I can\'t keep on like this".

"I\'ll never catch up to master at this rate, I need to think of something else".

Leo howled tiredly, echoing his sentiments.

Christensen thought till his brains bled but no idea came. 30 minutes before his training time elapsed, as Christensen laid down on the ground having lost hope, a radical thought crossed his brain.

He suddenly sprang up. "Leo!"

Leo turned his white wolf head uninterestedly to look at his master.

"Snap out of it, do you remember your archenemies?"

"Huh?" Leo howled and tilted his head in puzzlement.

"Inferno horses!" Christensen laughed maniacally.

"Hahaha, I still remember when Prince Gadok of Wine Island visited with his pet Inferno Horse, you were so angry you fought with the horse and ended up thrashing a huge part of the throne room".

"You were almost killed by father out of rage then".

"What if I can make us imagine that an Inferno Horse is before us?"

Christensen tapped his brain as ideas started flowing. "All I need is fire, fire than can induce enough heat that you\'ll think an Inferno Horse is here".

"Awoo!" Leo howled angrily as he heard the name Inferno Horse.

"Hahaha, that\'s it!"

The next moment, Leo worked hard to gather dry woods around the clearing in the island before setting them all ablaze.

As soon as the heat set in, Leo\'s eyes turned red in rage.

"AWOO!!!"

Whoosh!

Master and beast soon rushed into the middle of the burning fire as like crazy maniacs, they started biting, punching, and attacking empty air with gusto.

Christensen soon became so engrossed in the invisible enemy fight that he became addicted to it, he no longer wanted to stop, he just wanted to keep on punching and fighting till his heart content but it didn\'t work that way.

"Stop!" Legolas finally spoke. "Your training time is over".

"Huh?" Christensen was surprised. "So fast? Can\'t I continue a bit…"

"No!"

"F*ck!"
