Chapter 699 Grimoire To Codex.
Everything about Hal was different...
The very aura around him made that clear and with his already perfect looks getting even more refined, while his black hair got sleeker and more mysterious than ever, Melinda and anyone who observed him further would swear to a difference...
When Hal\'s soul merged with his body and brought along the changing of Aura and general feel of him, the Primevals, those who did not already know, finally put a face on the Avatar of the newly created Concept... A Principle that promised to usher in a new era.
Paradise was bustling with the news but not in joy...
Nihasa had known all along that Hal was going to achieve power meant to rival that of the Primevals... That was what she stood to gain from her deal with Order.
It was not exactly a spoken deal in the sense that Order did not actually agree to what Nihasa had been planning seeing as it did not have actual knowledge of it.
Nihasa had plans to break free of Chaos just like other Primevals in hopes of surviving the Apocalyptic second fight and thus retain her spot at the top but while other Primevals were focused on an Artifact built by Order whose workings they dis not really understand, Nihasa prided herself on connections to both Primordial Principles.
Nihasa had expected a more direct comprehension of an Abstract Ordinance at which point, she would use the demonic imprints to take control of that comprehension and turn Hal into a secondary body... A bypass of the original limitation in regards to Abstract Ordinances.
Before Order came with its proposition, this had already been Nihasa\'s plan and she only saw the deal with Order as an assurance of the success of her plans.
She had however vastly underestimated to what lengths Hal was going to take his connection to Order and had been completely blindsided by his eventual receipt and use of the Primordial cosmic Grimoire and while she still tried to along with her plan, she was graceful in the acceptance of her defeat.
When Hal opened his eyes and revealed the lack of whites in his orbs that were now complete Sapphire blue, he laid those eyes on the apparition of Sariel, the Primeval Virtue Queen.
Those eyes were gasp-inducing because they went past the obvious elimination of the sclera whites... The longer anyone looked into Hal\'s new eyes, the more they felt sucked into the infiniteness...
This was the most visual representation of the change Hal just went through and it was honestly the only change that was needed.
Anyway,
There was no need for words as, with a smile from Hal and a wide-eyed realization from Sariel, the two told each other all they wanted to say.
It was clear that Hal had done it... What Primevals had been attempting since the first battle had been accomplished by this mortal who was not even a god yet
Hal was telling Sariel with that smile that her time in the Nexus World was at an end and the apparition of the Primeval Virtue Queen could do nothing to remain connected to Melinda when Hal revamped his woman\'s foundation to cut off any connection she might have with either Order or Chaos and by consequence, he rid her of Sariel\'s imprint.
No longer would Sariel use his woman as her gateway into the Nexus World in an attempt at power and authority that would never be hers.
Melinda felt herself getting free of the attachments and it only seemed to have her melt even deeper into Hal\'s touch when he pulled her closer and connected their lips in heated passion.
When they separated, they had a moment of silence in which they just stared into each other\'s eyes.
"That\'s going to take some getting used to" Melinda eventually said referring to his eyes and the pull and impact they had.
"Do they make you uncomfortable?" Hal asked with a raised brow and a chuckle to which Melinda shook her head,
"No. Stabbing you made me uncomfortable," she said with a smile before Hal pushed her gently back,
"You should go now," he said with Melinda\'s hands still on his shoulders while she raised her brows in confusion,
"Go where?" she asked but as soon as she did, she remembered she was yet to comprehend an Ordinance.
Hal chuckled at her scatterbrain just as he used infinity to tap into the sentience of the Monument so that it shrouded Melinda and she was whisked away to a private section of the Monument where she would not be disturbed.
Ordinances might be born of Order but they had more to do with the commanding and controlling various aspects of the three realms than they did with the Concept of Creation/Primordial Principle Of Order itself.
Also, they remained criteria for godhood along with a Divine Bloodline that is to be synthesized once one becomes a Cosmic Demi-god.
Even Hal, now being an Avatar of Infinity still had to follow these steps and criteria...
The Levels of Infinity comprehension, as Hal had laid them down, are; Infancy, Principle, Conception, Incarnation, and finally, Paragon.
Hal was still at the Infancy stage of Infinity and that level was more than enough to pass for an Ordinance.
In fact, Ordinances remained an essential part of Infinity as the very principle of Infinity was to encompass all things in regards to all aspects of the three realms...
In other words, before Hal could ever become a Paragon of Infinity, he must become a Paragon of every single Ordinance that exists... Not to use them but to solidify them and add them up into the ever-expanding whole that was Infinity... And yet, this was still just a part of Infinity.
This was only the part of Infinity that was gotten from Order (More or less) and the other part involved the various concepts within Chaos.
These all granted Infinity a potential that surpassed either Order or Chaos but also put Hal in a conundrum in regards to time.
Also while he would be striving for the improvement and development of infinity, he would have to dedicate time to the advancement of his cultivation in a quest to become a god.
He knew already that the development of Infinity and his cultivation went hand in hand and he could not afford to neglect either one of them.
"*Sigh* The price for independence and ultimate power is quite steep," he said with his hands on his waist and his face directed at the ceiling of the hall he was in.
Almost as soon as he was done talking, Grimoire stirred in his mind space and Hal retrieved him with just a thought so that, for the first time, the Artifact appeared in its book form outside of Hal\'s head.
Grimoire opened its mouth to speak at first but it seemed incapable of getting any words out and closed its mouth in silence once again.
Hal said nothing and waited patiently for this companion of his to finally find his voice.
"I\'m sorry" it eventually said and there was genuine repentance in its tone of voice.
Hal shrugged,
"It\'s fine... It all worked out. I doubt you ever had a choice. You were just doing what you were created to do" he said and there was detached coldness oozing from every word.
In all honesty, Hal was not sure what to say...
It was true that Grimoire had not had a choice in all that it had done under Chaos\' orders but it was also true that Hal hated being manipulated...
That probably made Hal a hypocrite but he honestly could not care less as it was his firm belief that his feelings, thoughts, and interests trumped that of any other person...
Hypocrisy was practically his creed...
"Besides, what good would it do me to just cast you aside... At the very least, you should offer restitution." Hal added.
"Restitution?" Grimoire was confused and Hal nodded and smiled mildly,
"Of course. When I think of all the times you must have laughed at me while you did your little plots in secret, I get angry.
Fur example; the redaction of my Primeval Devil Bloodline from your pages as well as the source of the Tribulations that plagues me at random intervals" he said and allowed himself a small chuckle.
The Devil Bloodline was redacted from the Grimoire by Primordial Will out of anger at Nihasa when she made her deal with Order... Chaos had considered that to be a gruesome betrayal seeing as she was its agent.
The tribulation was stipulated by Primordial Will by orders from Choas to attempt to strike down any scion with Nihasa\'s bloodline but the tribulation was limited to worlds that lacked Divine energy.
The tribulation had actually been aimed at Hal himself to squash the link between Order and Nihasa but had never sought him out in the Mortal Realm due to his Devil bloodline not activating on account of lack of Cosmic Energy.
Hal wondered how Chaos felt about the fact that its Grimoire ended up helping the target of its ire to fight a tribulation of its own making.
It was comical to think that Chaos could be cursing cruel fate right now especially considering how things eventually turned out.
Anyway, Hal continued,
"Your Punishment will be an eternity of Servitude. From now on, You will no longer be known as the Primordial Cosmic Grimoire but rather as the Codex Of Infinity and you will serve everyone under my banner..."
