Transmigrated into a Parvenu's Ex-wife in the '90s

Chapter 110 Being Polite (3)

Father Zhang and Mother Zhang were open-minded individuals. Zhang Huafeng and his wife started saving up their salaries since they had gotten married. Over the years, Wu Xiuyue had been doing manual work at home for extra income. The two of them had been extremely frugal all for the purpose of saving up for a bigger house. Wu Xiuyue certainly wasn’t willing to spend that money on starting her own business.

She sighed softly and said, “How do you think Shu Yan had so much money? And we have never seen the father of the children nor had she ever brought him out. Why do you think that is?” She bought her own house and started her business. Where did all the money come from?

“That’s her business. Why do you care?” Grumbled Zhang Huafeng before he fell asleep.

Shu Yan had just finished over on her side. As usual, she paid the temps and let Yingying head out first.

“Boss, I can stay a little longer to help tidy up the things.” Selling clothes definitely wasn’t as easy as it looked. Not only did one have to remain passionate and articulate, one also needed to continuously bring clothes for the customers to try on. And, when one ran into picky customers, they could try on dozens of sets and not buy anything. Then, she’d need to put each one of those clothes back one by one. It truly required a lot of patience.

“You’ve been running around all day as well. Just leave it. We can take care of them tomorrow.” Shu Yan gathered all the money, kept them closed to her body, and said, “Let’s go home.”

Once she was home, Shu Yan, who hadn’t slept in two days plopped down on the chair right away. When a person was sufficiently busy, she’d feel an oddly elated sensation. But once she relaxed, she’d feel her entire body drained all of a sudden. And that’s what Shu Yan was feeling right now.

After a while, Shu Yan got up to bathe in the bathroom and changed into her pajamas. She went inside of Jingjing’s room first. Tianbao, being the little tyrant that he was, has one foot over on top of Jingjing. Shu Yan walked over and moved his leg off of Jingjing. She pulled the blanket over both of their stomachs and kissed both of them on their foreheads before she returned to her room.

Shu Yan had been coming home late as of late and the two kids had been sleeping together. Shu Yan had noticed that the two of them became much closer with each other all of a sudden. As evidenced by the fact that Tianbao looked up to his older sister a lot now and was more dependent on her.

Shu Yan couldn’t go to bed just yet. She was in a hurry last night and didn’t count the money properly. Shu Yan decided to recount them again. It was $6,135. Shu Yan pulled out her notebook and wrote it down. She then started counting her income from today. That came to $6,085, more or less the same as the day before. That’s what she made in the last two days. Her inventory cost her $3,762 today, and she needed to buy more windbreakers tomorrow. The saying that all the money was tied up in the inventory when one ran their own business was most definitely true.

Shu Yan had a difficult time getting up the next morning. Breakfast was a simple porridge with a side dish and some bread. She didn’t even have time to prepare Ye Jingjing’s lunch.

“Here’s $2. Get some noodles at the shop outside of your school for lunch.” Shu Yan felt bad having to tell her that.

“I won’t need it. I still have money left from last time,” said Ye Jingjing as she shook her head.

Silly girl. Didn’t even know how to spend the money. Shu Yan stroked her head. “That’s the pocket money for you. You keep those for yourself. This is lunch money. Keep them somewhere safe, okay? Let’s go. Mom will drop you off at school.”
