Chapter 103: One Against All
Chapter 103: One Against All
John stood a few steps behind Elliot, hoping that he would be able to do as he said. After all, he will become the most famous student in the academy once he takes down the three strongest channel opening stage magicians and their groups all by himself without moving his hands or using his feet.
“Please let this become true,” Lisa prayed in her mind, wishing to see her lover rise to stardom. That way, when the time comes, her father wouldn’t be able to get in the way of their love. A strong magician is respected, and if he defeats them, then he will prove himself as the magician with the highest potential and the brightest future. Which father wouldn’t want her daughter to get together with such a man?
None Lisa knew of.
The participants surrounding him only had one thought popping in their minds when they heard his words, this guy isn’t a human; he is the manifestation of arrogance.
“Eh, what’s he doing?”
“Why is he so carefree even though many students are surrounding them!”
“Does he really believe that his friend will be able to solo so many magicians? What a Joke!”
“Maybe he has lost his mind.”
“Kiya~ he is so cool! I’m losing my mind!”
When the onlookers noticed that Theo was resting on the ground, hands behind his head and eyes looking straight at the slightly bright and mostly dark sky without a care in the world, some started to poke fun at him while the others fell for his charm.
Since Elliot was so sure that he would be able to do it, Theo acted like that.
“Birds of a feather sure do flock together,” Eliseo said sarcastically, attacking his opponents with words.
“What? I didn’t understand even a tiny bit of what you meant by your words. I don’t really like idioms. They are a waste of time, so I haven’t read any and definitely haven’t come across the one you just said to look cool. Care to explain it in common English?”
“Your friend is as arrogant as you.”
“Arrogant, you say?” Elliot said with a laugh. “That’s not arrogance. That’s his way of showing the world that he trusts me and believes that I can defeat you all without using my hands and feet.”
His words made their eyes twitch uncontrollably.
“Their arrogance knows no bound.”
“Shouldn’t we start teaching these freshmen a lesson? One of them openly disrespects us while the others don’t even put us in their eyes!” One of the vice leaders said while pointing at Elliot and his friends.
“It looks like his teammates have no intention of helping him. So, let’s leave them out of it and focus all our attention on taking him down.
“Are we honestly going to gang up on one junior who is an entire major stage below most of us?” Warren said with an expression of reluctance on his face.
“Third Leader, he is serious about this,” Eliseo said.
“He asked for it, so we should just give him a good beating that he will remember till days old.” Marshall wanted to take out his anger on Elliot, so he wasn’t going to pull back any punches, nor was he allowing for the others to fall back without facing him.
“What are you guys gossiping about, heh? If you think that I am wrong, then prove it with your actions instead of bitching about it. I am standing right here, waiting for you guys to make a move. So, if you’re a man with courage, then step up! And don’t forget to come at me together, or else it wouldn’t be any fun.” Elliot said in a calm voice while looking at the dozen or so people surrounding him with serene eyes. Even if someone looks closely at his eyes, they wouldn’t be able to catch a glimpse of nervousness in them.
“Was I seriously worrying about this arrogant person?” Warren’s cheeks twitched, and he opened his eyes, an act that signified to was ready to fight.
When Eliseo saw that he had opened his eyes, he immediately said, “Everyone, there is no need to hold anything back. Let’s do our best to take him down his high horse. If he loses his life, then no one is to be blamed. It’s all his fault for being arrogant and cocky!”
An instant after those words left the mouth of First Leader, the onlookers saw more than a dozen magicians who were at least in the early stages of the channel opening stage releasing their supernatural powers at him.
Towards his right, the supernatural cells of several magicians absorbed 100 to 900 hundred units of magic energy from their bodies to manifest five waves of flame, one brighter than the other; one bigger than the other. The biggest one consumed all the other waves to become a small pond of flames, then it started to condense into a boulder-sized fireball.
Towards his left, the supernatural cells of three magicians absorbed magic energy from their bodies and allowed them to manipulate the Earth as they like. And they manipulated the ground, making high and thick walls rise from the ground and enclose Elliot and his friends.
The ones in front of him and the ones behind him raised their hands, conjuring powerful energy bolts and weapons made out of the elements in the air above the condensing fireball.
“Attack!” The moment those words left the mouth of the Third Leader, a deluge of attacks rained down on him.
The descending attacks created a pressure so great that the onlookers could feel it pressing down on him. This itself was enough to make them worry about the life of the arrogant young man who was the sole target of these attacks and his friends that were unluckily in their range.
John closed his eyes, outsmarting himself by thinking if he isn’t able to see them, then they wouldn’t be able to hurt him.
Theo looked at Elliot, and seeing that he remained unmoving, he smiled and closed his eyes. His actions signified that he has no intention to teleport to safety.
Elliot felt a lot of pressure trying to press him down to the ground, but he remained as still as a mountain.
He raised his head, glancing at the chaotic barrage of attacks with an unamused expression on his face.
“This should be good enough to verify my theory,” Elliot said while thinking about something. Right after, the godly matrix that was one with his soul absorbed a thousand units of the essence of life from his body, causing a massive amount of golden energy to bust out his body.
In the very next instant, the golden energy stretched North to South, enclosing Elliot and his friends in a dome-like shield made out of a thousand units of the essence of life.
